The File Manager is an essential tool for managing your digital assets, either as part of the builder or as a standalone application. Accessible across all designs linked to your account, it allows you to handle files for emails, pages, or templates seamlessly.
With the File Manager, you can:
Browse, search, and sort your files
Import new files from your device or external services
Create, manage, and delete folders
Preview and insert files directly into your designs
You can access the File Manager when you are:
Clicking the 'Browse' button in an image placeholder.
Using the 'Change image' button in the image properties panel.
Selecting the 'Link file' option when working with images or buttons.
Some applications may have a stand-alone instance that can be accessed without loading the builder.
Drag-and-Drop: Simply drag files from your computer and drop them into the designated upload area.
Upload or Import Button: If you can't drag and drop, an 'Upload' or 'Import' button is also available.
Easily integrate with external platforms such as Dropbox, Google Drive, and Instagram to import the files you need. Additionally, access royalty-free services like Pexel to enrich your designs with free media.
Browsing and Searching
Sort: Arrange your files by name, date, size, or type to find what you're looking for quickly.
Search: The search feature narrows down the list of files within the current folder based on your query.
Preview and Insert: Hover over any file to reveal options for previewing and inserting it into your design.
Delete Files: You can delete files, but note that they can't be moved between folders. Only empty folders can be deleted.
For multiple deletions, checkboxes appear next to each file and empty folder that can be deleted.
Create a custom folder hierarchy using various permissible characters, such as letters, numbers, spaces, periods, hyphens, and underscores.
File Types: Prohibited file extensions include .js, .cjs, .mjs, .php, .phtml, .php3, .php4, .php5, .php7, .phps, .php-s, .pht, .phar, .HTML, .zip, .rar.
File Size: The default maximum file size for uploads is 20MB, although this limit may vary.
File Transfers: Files cannot be moved between folders, only deleted.
You can move files within the File manager using the move icon. You can access the move icon on the file within the File manager. The move icon is a folder with an arrow pointing right inside it. Use this icon to move files.
To move a file, take the following steps:
Enter your File manager.
Navigate to the file you would like to move.
Click the Move icon.
A popup will appear displaying a list of destinations for your file.
Select the file’s new destination from the list.
Click Move to confirm the action.
The following GIF shows an example of how to move files to new destinations within the File manager. It also shows an example of how the file URL remains the same as it travels between destinations.
Consider the following regarding the new File manager functionality:
When you upload new files to the File manager, the URL will have a new format compared to previously uploaded files.
Your existing file URLs will remain the same as before.
When you move files within the File manager, the URL does not change.
If there is a name conflict, the File manager will ask if you want to replace the image, keep both images, or cancel the upload.
Action: Click "keep": The image uploads with a new name, adding a suffix like _1. Suffixes increment to a maximum of _50 in case of conflicts.
Click "replace": The new image will overwrite the old one and appear in the File Manager. Once the CDN cache expires, you will see the updated content when browsing the URL. Note: The move feature also updates the content at served URLs, allowing for widespread alterations to an image's content when its URL is commonly used.
Click on "cancel": The upload will be canceled.
After a file is deleted, the URL is unreachable when the CDN cache expires.
The following image shows an example of the modal that appears in the event there is a name conflict.
